Draw and Print Your World is an art camp that I designed and lead at the New Children's Museum. I would love to customize this camp to be venue specific to your institution.
Camp Philosophy:
I believe there is power in drawing and print. Drawing allows us to reinterpret our world in a very personal and meaningful way. our formulated society often puts constraints and expectations visual output, and my camp is an attempt to break that, and instead decide how we want to see our world. By taking an inventory of the objects around us, the things we are attracted to, our interests, pre-existing design elements, we can create a rolodex of elements with which we can filter through our imaginations and onto paper. We then are given a beautiful freedom to express our world without convention. By screen-printing these images, we are utilizing a popular language, and bringing our creative forces into the life of the everyday. This camp is about reaching out to the world around us, reaching inside of us to discover how we want to express that world, and then sending our products back into the world.
