I just found out via Facebook that Writer finished printing their new album cover, featuring my artwork. Andy bought this drawing from me at Yeller at the Wharffice, and transformed it into a two color screen print for their new EP.
Today I began my first of many contributing posts to Mint Design Blog. I will have a weekly feature called “Lindsay’s Quick Queries,” where I will be showcasing an artists work, and asking them quick and easy questions (that have nothing to do with art). Today John Zappas has the floor. Next week, Nat Russell. So head on over to Mint and get those RSS’s in order.
My friend Chad over at Creative Casualties just posted this creepy send off for John and I.
Even though he spelled my name and Cranbrook wrong, the sweet lil’ buttercup is rooting for us. Thanks Chad!
I went to my very first Weaver’s Guild meeting today. The meeting was the “spinning” branch of the guild, which until today I had no idea how to do. I practiced spinning yarn (from wool). Pretty great. Hopefully in the next month I will start one on one weaving lessons! I can’t wait. Anywho, the guild has a couple bins by the door that say “Pass it Forward.” So, I got passed forward an awesome thread organizer! Finally color coding and threads out where I can see them.
Read this article that was posted on Sezio! Me an two other San Diegans (and also Point Loma alums) got into Cranbrook!!! Still waiting to hear from a couple schools, but what an honor!
Just finished this logo for Vogo Image, Newport Beach based wedding photographers.
You can view the progression of the logo on my site here.
I just came across this street art project called “Little People- A Tiny Street Art Project,” claiming the tag line “Little hand-painted people left in London to fend for themselves. Here are some of their recent projects:
Their project reminds me a bit of The Sprinkle Brigade. Keep up the good work Little People!
I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Michigan to interview at University of Michigan and Cranbrook. I got to meet lots of great people, and see some amazing facilities. Here are some pictures of my trip (all of which are of the various grad school facilities). Like I said, whirlwind. Follow the jump to see all of the photos.

Here are the results of my crazy sewing frenzy last week. I finished up the screen printing of the sacks at the Children’s Museum in San Diego. The sacks get filled with bean bag fill and will add to Allison Weise’s installation called Barn Dance.
